April 2, 2020

Sorry for the prank 2 days ago, it had to be done haha.
Anyway, This morning we woke up to news announcing that within 24 hours all the US missionaries would be heading home. This has honestly been the most crazy, insane weeks of my life. But I'm so thankful. Thankful that I will still get a chance to go out and finish my mission, after all of this is over. Thankful for this short time I have had in Australia. Thankful for the small sacrifices I have made to make myself more whole. Thankful that we have a Heavenly Father who knows exactly how we feel. Thankful for the experiences I have had with his children, and my brothers and sisters. I would like to share one experience, with one person in particular, the greatest convert of my mission in my opinion. In my first area, me my comp found someone who thought he knew everything yet in reality this was not the case. He was very prideful yet very shy, was very selfish and never thought of others, but still I knew inside he had lots of doubts and fears, and that he knew he was imperfect but too prideful to show it. I knew that through the gospel he had a chance to turn his life around. He had a small belief in Jesus Christ but didn't know a lot. As I spent my time getting to know him in that first area, it seemed like there was no hope for him, and that he would never get converted to the gospel, but then I got transferred. Throughout the mission I kept in touch with him and how he was doing and eventually I started to see changes, as he diligently exercised his faith and tried his hardest to change and turn his life around. He had overcome his doubts, his struggles, and he had become a new person, someone who appreciated everything Heavenly Father had done for him and all the blessings in his life. He eventually became a strong member of the church and wanted to do nothing but help people come unto Christ. He was able to completely turn his whole life around, and like him, I know that through the gospel it is possible for ANYONE. His name was Matthew and he was from Utah.
See you all soon.
