Week 74: 慈助会会长: December 7, 2020

First off it's been cooling down a lot, and I hate it so much. It's ok tho cuz it's getting back up to the 60s later this week haha. This week was a lot of the same old stuff- service, taught a handful of lessons to some of the people we are teaching, and got my first eggnog shake from Cookout which was fire. My lip is healing for all those who were wondering, no stitches! The christmas season has been firing through, we got our hands on a christmas tree and I'm loving the warmer weather than Utah! (Still would prefer some sunshine state type of weather tho)
Something that hit me this Sunday was how much more spiritually tuned I felt and started comparing myself now to myself before I left on a mission. Before my mission I didnt always do the things that bring the spirit, and a lot of what I wanted was focused around temporal things. As I've gone through my mission, and spent time everyday learning about the gospel and becoming better, my sensitivity to having spiritual experiences truly has grown. It's awesome to see the growth that comes from doing just the simple things in life, every single day. There are obviously more things I do on the mission that people dont have time to do everyday, but I still know that through the small things we can gain that spirituality we need. I love a simple Chinese idiom that says 不进则退, basically translating to: not improving is retrogressing. When we stop doing these little things, our testimony will crumble and we will fall away. For all who have stopped doing the small things and for those who never have, it's still not too late to do these things.

•long story short Elder Bennion and I ran 3 miles to a service, then 3 miles back because the sisters needed to borrow our car.

•my bro Michael was the girl in this pics MTC teacher, and my mom also volunteered with her at a place in Logan! Her husband's cousin was also Michael's comp in taiwan, and in his own words my dad "saved him in chemistry at USU." Cool connections.

•christmas tree

•It dropped down to 30, and ngl I almost died. This is the first time I've worn pants (besides my pros) I think my whole mission.

•last pday after I wrecked my lip
