I got a call from my Mission President who informed me that I have been officially permanently reassigned to Raleigh for the duration of my mission. This came as no surprise to me due to my MTC comp Elder Packer already being permanently reassigned too, but it is really weird and kind of sad knowing I wont be able to go back to Australia (President Maurer told me I'm more than welcome to come back for my honeymoon and say hi though haha so I guess that'll be the plan). However I'm more than content growing where I'm planted so I'm excited to see where these next couple months in Raleigh take me!!! Funny thing is I've now also been in this 1 area in North Carolina longer than all 4 of my areas in Australia combined hahaha. It's really weird thinking I've only got a few months left, and honestly I dont want to go home... it is so nice being on the mission, not having to worry about home, worry about school, jobs, dating ;) etc, and instead just focusing on other people and the gospel. There really are blessings that come from forgetting about yourself and turning outwards. The time here has been really flying by, and I'm trying to take as much advantage of it as possible!
We like to watch church movies during Lunch, and this week we happened upon the Cokeville Miracle which is always a fire movie. It's based around a bombing that happened, and all these insane spiritual events that kept all the kids involved safe and with 0 fatalities. A cop is investigating it, yet still doubts his faith, despite hearing of all these crazy stories and experiences. I really enjoy how this is portrayed, because we cannot just rely on other peoples testimonies, despite how true they are. It can be a crutch in hard times, but nothing is of more importance than becoming personally converted to the Lord. We need to put in effort personally to pray, read the scriptures, and go to church, and after doing these things it will be made known to us that these things truly are of God.
